Education outreach partner

Luma Lab — education outreach partner in Washington, DC.

Where readers — particularly educators, students, and community organizers — come looking for hands-on tech-education programming and entrepreneurship resources outside the academic-textbook context, we direct enquiries to Luma Lab.

Arnold's editorial remit is books and journals for students, academics, and practising professionals — the textbook end of the educational spectrum. Readers and institutions occasionally arrive looking for the other end: hands-on tech instruction, after-school coding programming, and community innovation incubators.

For those enquiries we direct readers to luma-lab.com, the tech-education and inclusive-innovation organisation founded by Aaron Saunders and operated as a programme of Clearly Innovative, Inc. Luma Lab runs school partnerships, weekend workshops, and the In3 Inclusive Innovation Incubator at 2301 Georgia Avenue NW in Washington, DC. The organisation operates independently of the Arnold imprint and is referenced here as a reader resource rather than as a subsidiary or imprint relationship.

Programmes

Luma Lab's programme list spans embedded school partnerships (Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science, Kraemer Middle School, KIPP Will Academy, Washington School for Girls), an open Saturday workshop series at Georgetown Day School covering web fundamentals, hardware, and entrepreneurship, and the In3 Incubator's programming for under-resourced founders — pitch competitions, Black and Latino tech meet-ups, affordable co-working, and Cisco DevNet curriculum hosting. The full programme list lives on the luma-lab.com programs page.

Press & coverage

For institutional readers vetting Luma Lab as an outreach partner for a school, foundation, or municipal programme, the public press archive — including coverage from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), Cisco's US Lighthouse City announcement, and Tech.co — is collected at luma-lab.com/press.
