Biography
Mark Jancovich's research on genre cinema, promotional culture and historical reception helped reframe horror and science fiction as objects of serious historiography in British film studies. He co-edited The Film Studies Reader (Arnold, 2000) with Joanne Hollows and Peter Hutchings, selecting and introducing extracts that linked classical film theory to cultural-studies debates of the 1990s.
